The Hawkins Scale

8.8 The Void Loop and Safe Practice

~44 min read

Loop 5: The Void Loop

Triggering star cluster: Vô Chính Diệu + Địa Không – Địa Kiếp Central Hawkins frequency: 50 (Apathy) ⟷ 125 (Desire to fill)

There is a kind of suffering with no name, no clear form. It does not erupt like anger, does not lament like grief. It is simply Empty. Empty to the point that we do not know what we want, do not feel who we are, and see no thread of connection to life.

This loop operates by a mechanism: an inner emptiness makes us either fall into a "paralysed" state (50) or run frantically in search of something to fill it (125). And paradoxically, the harder we try to fill it, the wider the black hole opens.

1. The psychological mechanism: "The black hole of identity"

The core of this loop is the absence of an inner point of support (Inner Axis). Without an axis, the mind becomes extremely fragile before the upheavals of life.

  • Apathy (50): The "frozen" state of emotion. We live like a shadow, lacking the basic drive to live.

  • Desire (125): When the paralysis becomes unbearable, we seek short-term "doses of dopamine" to feel that we are still alive: shopping, scrolling social media, fleeting relationships, or thrill-seeking experiences.

How it operates:

A feeling of Emptiness → paralysis (50) → seeking stimulation to fill (125) → short-term excitement → empty again

2. The triggering star cluster: The energetic "leg-draggers"

Star / structure In the Force zone (below 200) Real-life expression
Vô Chính Diệu (Empty Palace) "A house with no owner" Lacking its own identity, easily manipulated by the environment, always living by others' expectations or by social trends.
Địa Không - Địa Kiếp A sandstorm that drains energy Dissolves what we have just built, creating a feeling that "everything is meaningless." Pulls consciousness back to extreme emptiness.

Final notes for this chapter:

  1. Accept the oscillation: Do not be discouraged if you find yourself escaping and then falling back into a loop. The process of evolution does not run in a straight line; it runs in a spiral. Each time you fall in and "see through it," the loop loosens a little.

  2. The power of Presence: This map only works when you are willing to stop. The 10-second gap between stimulus and response is where your destiny is rewritten.

  3. From Nghiệp to Nguyện: When you raise the frequency of consciousness above 200, those very "trigger" star clusters above will become the strongest Dụng Thần for you to create your life.

The Loop Star Knot (Trigger) Hawkins Frequency The Awakening Question The Action of Transformation
1. THE VICTIM Thái Âm / Thiên Đồng weakened + Tang Hổ 75 → 50 "Whatever others may have done that makes me suffer, right now in the midst of this pain, what can I do for myself?" Return energy to the Body (eat, sleep, sunlight). Do one small thing for yourself.
2. THE WARRIOR Thất Sát / Kình Dương + Hỏa Linh 150 → 175 "What is this anger protecting; what pain beneath this woundedness weighs heaviest?" The 10-minute rule: remember to breathe. Shift from the goal of "Winning" to "Understanding."
3. THE SKEPTIC Cự Môn + Hóa Kỵ / Đà La 100 → 30 "Is this an objective Fact or a Story my mind has constructed?" Write down the actual evidence. Stop ruminating; replace it with a concrete action.
4. THE MASK Tử Phủ Vũ Tướng + Quyền Lộc 175 → 125 "If I dropped every title and achievement, what would remain in me to love?" Admit vulnerability honestly. Shift from "Being good" to "Serving."
5. THE VOID Vô Chính Diệu + Không Kiếp 50 → 125 "Do I need to achieve anything to deserve to exist and live a peaceful life?" Create an "Axis" through 3 small actions. Connect with 1 person, 1 task, 1 core value.

Decoding the 14 Major Stars

THE LEADERSHIP GROUP (TỬ PHỦ VŨ TƯỚNG)

"From the Armour of Ego to Effortless Authority"

This group of stars carries the energy of those who build and preserve social order. However, because they carry the nature of "Emperor stars" (king) and "Authority stars" (general), this group very easily gets stuck at the levels of Pride (175) and Desire (125).

They often mistakenly believe their worth lies in the recognition of others or in tangible achievements.

1. TỬ VI — "The Star of Presence"

  • Nature: Emperor star, ruling nobility, leadership, and overview.

  • Operating in the Force zone (< 200):

    • Level 175 (Pride): Becomes autocratic, face-conscious, hard to teach. Living in fear of losing the "throne" or of being looked down upon.

    • Expression: "I am always right," "Everyone must submit to me."

  • When raised to the Power zone (200 - 500+):

    • Level 350 (Acceptance) & 500 (Love): Becomes a wise leader. Authority comes not from coercion but from Presence. They shelter and lift up their subordinates naturally.

  • Key to transformation: Let go of the image of "King" to become a "Servant."

2. THIÊN PHỦ — "The Inner Treasury"

  • Nature: Commanding star, ruling accumulation, stability, generosity, and money.

  • Operating in the Force zone (< 200):

    • Level 125 (Desire) & 175 (Pride): Becomes conservative, miserly (not only with money but also with affection), always tightly defensive. Fearing change and risk.

    • Expression: "I must hold tight to what I have," "This world is too dangerous."

  • When raised to the Power zone (200 - 500+):

    • Level 250 (Neutrality) & 310 (Willingness): Becomes an abundant resource for the community. Their stability creates a sense of reassurance for everyone. They manage resources to create value, not to hoard fear.

  • Key to transformation: Realising the true treasure lies in inner Contentment, not in an external balance.

3. VŨ KHÚC — "The Discipline of Truth"

  • Nature: Wealth star, ruling solitude, decisiveness, pragmatism, and finance.

  • Operating in the Force zone (< 200):

    • Level 100 (Fear) & 150 (Anger): Becomes dry, cold, excessively materialistic. Prone to feeling lonely and using work to escape emotion.

    • Expression: "Only money is trustworthy," "Emotion is weakness."

  • When raised to the Power zone (200 - 500+):

    • Level 200 (Courage) & 400 (Reason): Becomes a symbol of integrity and discipline. The capacity to execute reaches a level of refinement. They use pragmatism to solve the complex problems of life.

  • Key to transformation: Accept the vulnerability of emotion as part of strength.

4. THIÊN TƯỚNG — "Ethics and Order"

  • Nature: Seal star, ruling assistance, uprightness, appearance, and compassion.

  • Operating in the Force zone (< 200):

    • Level 175 (Pride) & 100 (Fear): Living too dependent on society's judgement. Prone to becoming a "yes-person" or overly concerned with vanity and outward form.

    • Expression: "I must look perfect," "I dare not go against the majority."

  • When raised to the Power zone (200 - 500+):

    • Level 350 (Acceptance) & 500 (Love): Becomes a protector of justice and enduring moral values. They have the ability to reconcile and to create connection between people through genuine compassion.

  • Key to transformation: Shift from "face" to "virtue."

Major Star "Nghiệp" state (Force) "Nguyện" state (Power) Key to rising a level
Tử Vi Autocratic, face-conscious Wise, sheltering Service
Thiên Phủ Conservative, hoarding fear Generous, stable Contentment (inner)
Vũ Khúc Dry, utilitarian Upright, effective Empathy
Thiên Tướng Formalistic, vain Upright, compassionate Authenticity

Reflection for the reader

The Tử Phủ Vũ Tướng group carries a great lesson about Responsibility. At a low level, responsibility is a burden they use to demand recognition. At a high level, responsibility is a joy, because they see that they have the capacity to make this life better.

Awakening question: "Am I using my power to build armour for my ego, or to build a shelter for others?"

THE DYNAMIC GROUP (SÁT PHÁ THAM)

"From the Instinct to Destroy to the Strength to Restructure"

This group of stars represents the most primal needs of the human being: survival, conquest, and desire. Because of their "dynamic" character, they are very easily dragged down to the levels of Anger (150) and Desire (125).

Yet Sát Phá Tham is also the group most capable of "crossing the threshold" fastest. If they know how to transform, these are the very sources of energy that help a person escape adversity in spectacular fashion.

1. THẤT SÁT — "The Sword of Decisiveness"

  • Nature: Authority star, ruling power, force, solitude, and decisive action.

  • Operating in the Force zone (< 200):

    • Level 150 (Anger) & 175 (Pride): Becomes fierce, hot-tempered, "meeting hardness with hardness." They are ready to destroy relationships to protect the ego or to win.

    • Expression: "Better to break than to bend," extreme reactions, loneliness born of harshness.

  • When raised to the Power zone (200 - 500+):

    • Level 200 (Courage) & 400 (Reason): Becomes a courageous general. They use decisiveness to cut away what is rotten, to protect what is right. Authority now is responsibility and protection.

  • Key to transformation: Shift from "Attacking" to "Self-mastery."

2. PHÁ QUÂN — "The Energy of Renewal"

  • Nature: Consuming star, ruling the breaking of the old to establish the new, pioneering, strong upheaval.

  • Operating in the Force zone (< 200):

    • Level 150 (Anger) & 125 (Desire): Destroying indiscriminately. They loathe reality but have no direction, leading to wasting resources and ruining what they have merely to satisfy anger or impulse.

    • Expression: Craving then quickly tiring, meaningless rebellion, creating crises for themselves.

  • When raised to the Power zone (200 - 500+):

    • Level 310 (Willingness) & 350 (Acceptance): Becomes an innovator. They have the ability to clear away old remnants to build a better new system. They are the strength of reform.

  • Key to transformation: Shift from "Destruction" to "Restructuring."

3. THAM LANG — "The Bridge Between Desire and Soul"

  • Nature: Peach-blossom star, ruling desire, fortune, art, spirituality, and cunning.

  • Operating in the Force zone (< 200):

    • Level 125 (Desire): Immersed in material or sensory cravings. Always feeling lack and seeking to fill it with short-term gratification. Prone to using cunning to profit or to manipulate.

    • Expression: Greed, envy, or living falsely to achieve an aim.

  • When raised to the Power zone (200 - 500+):

    • Level 400 (Reason) & 500 (Love): Becomes a master of knowledge and the art of living. They transform desire into a passion for learning and deep empathy. This is the star of spiritual evolution.

  • Key to transformation: Shift from "Craving" to "Conscious enjoyment."

Major Star "Nghiệp" state (Force) "Nguyện" state (Power) Key to rising a level
Thất Sát Fierce, lonely Decisive, protective Self-mastery
Phá Quân Rebellious, destructive Reforming, pioneering Purpose of life
Tham Lang Greedy, manipulative Wise, artistic Empathy

Reflection for the reader

The Sát Phá Tham group teaches us a lesson about Movement. If you carry this group of stars, your life will never stand still. The question is whether you use that strength to "smash" reality or to "cross the threshold" of yourself.

Awakening question: "Am I acting to satisfy a momentary instinct, or to create a more enduring value for the future?"

THE INTELLECT & EMOTION GROUP (CƠ NGUYỆT ĐỒNG LƯƠNG)

"From Fragile Sensitivity to Boundless Compassion"

This group of stars represents the capacity for thought, sensitivity, and innate kindness. Because of their nature as "literary stars" and "blessing stars," they very easily fall into the levels of Grief (75) or Fear (100) from being too sensitive to their environment.

Yet this is also the group of stars that most easily touches the Power zone (above 200) through the path of practice and inner understanding.

1. THIÊN CƠ — "The Wisdom That Illuminates Law"

  • Nature: Wisdom star, ruling strategy, flexibility, mechanism, and the ability to calculate.

  • Operating in the Force zone (<200):

    • Level 100 (Fear) & 125 (Desire): Becomes excessively anxious (overthinking), scheming, calculating out of fear of losing safety. The brain never stops running, leading to exhaustion and insomnia.

    • Expression: "If I don't plan ahead, everything will fall apart," using intelligence to manipulate or defend.

  • When raised to the Power zone (200−500+):

    • Level 400 (Reason) & 500 (Love): Becomes a lucid wisdom. They understand the laws of the universe and use their flexibility to solve problems for the many.

  • Key to transformation: Shift from "Calculating" to "Systems thinking."

2. THÁI ÂM — "The Beauty of Nurturing"

  • Nature: Water star, ruling mother, wife, enjoyment, property, and keen intuition.

  • Operating in the Force zone (<200):

    • Level 75 (Grief) & 100 (Fear): Becomes sentimental, self-doubting, living too much in the past or in the fear of abandonment. Easily wounded by small things.

    • Expression: "I am not good enough to be loved," sinking into nostalgic sorrow.

  • When raised to the Power zone (200−500+):

    • Level 350 (Acceptance) & 500 (Love): Becomes maternal energy. They have a wonderful capacity to listen and to empathise. Their presence brings a feeling of reassurance and shelter.

  • Key to transformation: Shift from "Sensitivity" to "Empathic intuition."

3. THIÊN ĐỒNG — "Innocence Amid the Stream of Life"

  • Nature: Blessing star, ruling change, enjoyment, merit, and a childlike character.

  • Operating in the Force zone (<200):

    • Level 50 (Apathy) & 125 (Desire): Becomes lazy, fond of momentary fun, or prone to giving up when facing difficulty. Always waiting for luck instead of acting.

    • Expression: "I'll deal with it tomorrow," living without purpose, easily swayed by outer emotions.

  • When raised to the Power zone (200−500+):

    • Level 250 (Neutrality) & 540 (Joy): Becomes joy in itself. They have an extremely high capacity to adapt and bring freshness to their surroundings. They work through pure inspiration.

  • Key to transformation: Shift from "Childish" to "Responsible innocence."

4. THIÊN LƯƠNG — "The Healing Teacher"

  • Nature: Sheltering star, ruling longevity, medicine, education, and generosity.

  • Operating in the Force zone (<200):

    • Level 175 (Pride): Becomes dogmatic, conservative, prone to judging others by its own moral standards. Fond of instructing others when not asked.

    • Expression: "I know what is good for you," rigidity in old viewpoints.

  • When raised to the Power zone (200−500+):

    • Level 350 (Acceptance) & 500 (Love): Becomes a sage, a physician of the soul. They observe the world with compassionate eyes and are always willing to help without ostentation.

  • Key to transformation: Shift from "Judging" to "Objective understanding."

Major Star "Nghiệp" state (Force) "Nguyện" state (Power) Key to rising a level
Thiên Cơ Anxious, scheming Wise, creative Stillness of mind
Thái Âm Sentimental, mournful Intuitive, nurturing Inner self-confidence
Thiên Đồng Lazy, dependent Joyful, adaptable Discipline and Responsibility
Thiên Lương Dogmatic, judgemental Healing, generous Humility

Reflection for the reader

The Cơ Nguyệt Đồng Lương group teaches us a lesson about Gentleness. Strength need not be an explosion (Sát Phá Tham) or authority (Tử Phủ Vũ Tướng). Strength can be the endurance of water, the clarity of intellect, and the generosity of the heart.

Awakening question: "Am I using my sensitivity to wound myself, or to empathise and soothe the pain of the world?"

THE LIGHT & DISCOURSE GROUP (NHẬT NGUYỆT CỰ CƠ)

"From Imposing Vanity to Illuminating Wisdom"

This group of stars carries the energy of spreading information, truth, and honour. Because of their tendency to want to be "seen" and to "speak," they very easily fall into the levels of Pride (175) or Anger (150) when the ego is wounded.

1. THÁI DƯƠNG — "The Sun That Illuminates Honour"

  • Nature: Sun star, ruling honour, nobility, light, father/husband, and transparency.

  • Operating in the Force zone (<200):

    • Level 175 (Pride) & 150 (Anger): Becomes extremely face-conscious, fond of display and imposing their will on others. They fear "losing face" more than losing the truth. When not respected, they can radiate a heat that burns down relationships.

    • Expression: "I am the centre," "My word is the truth," conservative and covering flaws with a dazzling exterior.

  • When raised to the Power zone (200−500+):

    • Level 400 (Reason) & 500 (Love): Becomes a source of inspiration and guidance. They use their light to clarify what is ambiguous, helping others see the right path. Their bright honour creates natural credibility without any forcing.

  • Key to transformation: Shift from "Vanity" to "Substantial honour."

2. CỰ MÔN — "The Gateway of Truth"

  • Nature: Shadow star, ruling language, doubt, depth of thought, and gossip.

  • Operating in the Force zone (<200):

    • Level 100 (Fear) & 150 (Anger): Becomes suspicious, prone to scrutinising others' flaws and using words as a weapon to attack or defend. Easily caught in an endless loop of misunderstanding and gossip.

    • Expression: "This world is full of lies," speaking sharply and bitingly, or isolating oneself out of trust in no one.

  • When raised to the Power zone (200−500+):

    • Level 350 (Acceptance) & 400 (Reason): Becomes a master orator, lawyer, or researcher. They have the ability to peel back the layers of falsehood to find the core truth. Their words carry the power to create and to persuade.

  • Key to transformation: Shift from "Doubt" to "Critical thinking."

Major Star "Nghiệp" state (Force) "Nguyện" state (Power) Key to rising a level
Thái Dương Vain, imposing Illuminating, inspiring Humility
Cự Môn Suspicious, gossipy Sharp analysis, seeking truth Honesty

Reflection for the reader

You do not need to seek out "star-worship rituals to dispel misfortune" in order to rid yourself of the Sát Tinh. That is impossible, because they are part of your energy structure. Your task is to build a "container" of consciousness large enough to hold these powerful sources of energy. When consciousness is high enough, the Sát Tinh will no longer "strike" you; they will "work" for you.

Awakening question: "Am I letting these 'flames' burn down my life, or am I using them to forge the precious sword of wisdom?"

Sát Tinh / Shadow Star Nghiệp reaction (Force) Nguyện reaction (Power) Alchemy key
Kình Dương Fierce, aggressive Decisive, pioneering The will to protect
Đà La Blocked, gloomy Persevering, profound Thoroughness
Hỏa - Linh Hot-tempered, explosive Enthusiastic, fast Composure
Không - Kiếp Loss, emptiness Freedom, creativity Letting go of clinging
Hóa Kỵ Suspicion, gossip Intuition, depth Authenticity

4.3.6. THE AUSPICIOUS STARS & THE FOUR TRANSFORMATIONS (LỘC – QUYỀN – KHOA)

"When Blessings Are Awakened"

If the Sát Tinh are "harsh tests," then the Cát Tinh (auspicious stars) are "supporting resources." However, a resource has value only when its owner has the capacity to use it. Ý Thức is precisely the environment (soil, water, light) in which these seeds of blessing sprout.

1. THE THREE TRANSFORMATIONS — THREE STREAMS OF TRANSFORMING ENERGY

Hóa Lộc, Hóa Quyền, Hóa Khoa are the three most powerful states of transformation of a major star. They are like "turbochargers" for the stars.

🌟 HÓA LỘC — "Abundance and Flow"

  • Force zone (below 200 - Level Desire 125): Becomes greed, clinging to matter. You always feel lack even while having much. Lộc now is the "trap" that keeps the mind forever restless.

  • Power zone (above 200 - Level Acceptance 350): Becomes natural abundance. You no longer chase money but become a "transit station" of energy. Money comes and goes harmoniously to serve noble values.

  • Key: Shift from "Hoarding" to "Circulation."

🌟 HÓA QUYỀN — "Power and Responsibility"

  • Force zone (below 200 - Level Pride 175): Becomes autocracy, coercion, and the need to control others. You use authority to fill the fear of being seen as weak.

  • Power zone (above 200 - Level Courage 200): Becomes the capacity to execute and a spirit of responsibility. You use your influence to create order, to protect, and to advance the growth of the collective.

  • Key: Shift from "Imposing" to "Shouldering."

🌟 HÓA KHOA — "Wisdom and Solution"

  • Force zone (below 200 - Level Pride 175): Becomes the flaunting of knowledge and credentials, or using intellect to judge and belittle others. Learning much but understanding nothing.

  • Power zone (above 200 - Level Reason 400): Becomes wisdom and the ability to dissolve adversity. Hóa Khoa is the "foremost dissolving deity" because it brings a lucid view that finds the way out of every storm.

  • Key: Shift from "Information" to "Wisdom."

2. THE SUPPORTING STAR PAIRS (BENEFACTORS)

In the chart, star pairs such as Tả Phù – Hữu Bật, Thiên Khôi – Thiên Việt, Văn Xương – Văn Khúc are often called "benefactors."

Star pair At a low level (passive) At a high level (active)
Khôi - Việt Waiting for others to come and help. Becoming a pioneer, helping oneself and helping others.
Tả - Hữu Needing outside help to stand firm. Building a community, unity, and connected resources.
Xương - Khúc Dreamy, romantic, detached from reality. Using art and words to heal and inspire.

3. THE LAW FOR ACTIVATING THE AUSPICIOUS STARS

There is a great secret: The Cát Tinh never work effectively in an environment full of fear. If you are always worried about the future, Hóa Lộc will not bring enduring wealth. If you are always judging others, Hóa Khoa will not bring peace. To awaken the auspicious stars, you need to upgrade the "container" of your consciousness to the level of Neutrality (250) or Willingness (310).

The formula for awakening blessings:

Active Consciousness + Existing Auspicious Stars = Blessings in Reality

💡 The crux

The auspicious stars are like "deities" sleeping in your chart. They awaken only when you begin to stop complaining and begin to act with courage. Once you step across the line of 200 (Courage), the entire system of good stars on the chart will shift in unison to support you in fulfilling your "Nguyện."

Three Traps to Avoid: When the Tool Becomes a Barrier

When we use the Map of Consciousness together with Tử Vi, we are working with two extremely powerful symbolic systems. However, without alertness in analysis, the mind falls into three "classic" traps that distort the original aim of awakening.

1. Trap 1: The "Physicalisation" of the numbers (Misunderstanding the Scale)

Hawkins presents the levels of consciousness as numbers (from 20 to 1000). This creates an illusion that this is an absolutely precise physical scale like temperature or weight.

  • The faulty mechanism: Treating the number as a "metric" (KPI) rather than a state of energy. Many people spend energy "checking" what number they are at (405 or 410?) instead of observing the workings of consciousness.

  • Analysis from the Tử Vi angle: This is like adding up points for the stars to conclude a chart is "8 points" or "9 points." In reality, consciousness is a non-linear flow. A person may operate at 400 in logical thinking yet drop to 75 when facing a family wound.

  • Consequence: Turning the journey of awakening into a race of figures, losing the vividness and honesty of observing oneself.

2. Trap 2: The Spiritual Ego

This is the most subtle trap. The Ego never disappears; it only "changes clothes." When you learn about the high levels, the ego will quickly "borrow" these concepts to adorn itself.

  • The faulty mechanism: Using the Hawkins scale to create a new hierarchy. Instead of ranking by money or status, one begins to rank by "frequency."

  • Identifying signs:

    • "I am at level 500, so I no longer have worldly desires."

    • "He is at too low a level; not of the same class to talk with."

  • Analysis: This is in fact the Mask Loop (4.2.2) in an upgraded version. The ego borrows the label of "high frequency" to cover its pride (Pride - 175). At that point, learning Hawkins does not help liberate the ego; it only makes the ego more "expensive" and harder to touch.

3. Trap 3: Spiritual Bypassing

This is the phenomenon of using "high frequency" concepts to avoid dealing with psychological problems or real responsibilities at the "low levels."

  • The faulty mechanism: Using states such as Acceptance (350) or Love (500) as a kind of anaesthetic to avoid facing the Anger (150) or Fear (100) that is present.

  • Analysis from the karmic-force angle: A person with the combination Sát Phá Tham + Không Kiếp is facing a financial crisis but reassures themselves: "I am practising letting go at level 540, so I need not worry."

    • In reality: this is not letting go but Apathy (50) hiding under the name of Joy.

    • The karmic force is still there; the real problems still need to be handled at the levels of Courage (200) and Reason (400) before one can truly reach a higher level.

  • Consequence: Creating a state of "false awakening," where real problems accumulate and will erupt more violently in the form of actual hardship on the chart.

Aspect Using Awareness (Power) Falling into the Trap (Force)
Purpose To understand and transform oneself. To evaluate and classify others.
Attitude toward the "low levels" Embracing, observing, and seeking the lesson. Rejecting, loathing, or pretending they are not there.
Toward the chart A tool for locating the "sore points" of Nghiệp. A reason to blame or to feel smug about one's "innate root."
Expression Humble, realistic, serene. Judgemental, deluded, detached from reality.

The analytical safeguard

The Hawkins map is a compass, not a destination. Its value lies in showing you whether you are reacting through "Force" or through "Power."

If knowing about level 500 makes you feel "above others," you are at level 175. If knowing you are at level 100 makes you feel "hopeless," you are at level 75. Only when you can see yourself at any level with serenity and a willingness to take responsibility do you truly touch Courage (200) — the real starting line of all transformation.

USING IT SAFELY: FIVE "SAFEGUARDS" OF CONSCIOUSNESS

There are tools that, the more powerful they are, the more they need an accompanying "ethic of use." Not ethics in the dogmatic sense, but the subtlety of Ý Thức: knowing where to place it, when to use it, and where to stop.

The Hawkins scale, when used rightly, becomes:

  • A guiding compass (not a destination).

  • A reflecting mirror (not a layer of make-up).

  • A measure of reaction (not the worth of a person).

Below are 5 golden principles for using the Map of Consciousness most safely and effectively.

🔐 PRINCIPLE 1: The map is a metaphor — not absolute truth

Human consciousness is a living, non-linear entity. No machine or formula can "measure" precisely what number you are at. The Hawkins scale is a modelling language that helps us locate states of energy, much as we name "cloud layers" or "ocean currents."

  • Right thinking: Ask yourself "Which frequency is my reaction closest to right now?"

  • Mistake to avoid: Treating the number as a "certificate" or a verdict determining your worth.

🌱 PRINCIPLE 2: The frequency is a state — not an essence

Hawkins stresses that a person oscillates continuously. You are not "at" any fixed level. A person may operate at Reason (400) at work, but drop to Anger (150) when stuck in traffic, and reach Love (500) when holding their child.

  • Right thinking: The goal is to increase the ability to return to the zone above 200, rather than trying to "stand still" at some peak.

  • Mistake to avoid: Treating a low level as morally "bad" or a high level as an "eternal quality."

🎯 PRINCIPLE 3: Always return to 200 — "The gateway of maturity"

The 200 mark (Courage) is the most important "buffer zone." This is where Force<200→Power≥200. When you find yourself confused, wounded, or lost among the levels, immediately return to 200 through verifiable actions:

  • Tell the truth (no excuses).

  • Take responsibility (no blaming).

  • Dare to face real emotions (no avoidance).

🧘 PRINCIPLE 4: No "leapfrogging" — no forced positivity

Transforming consciousness is an organic process. You cannot leap from Grief (75) straight up to Love (500) by willpower or hollow affirmations. Leapfrogging usually leads to Spiritual Bypassing.

  • Right thinking: Go through each layer of emotion. Admit: "I am afraid," "I am hurt." This honest admission is the real thrust that lifts you up.

  • Mistake to avoid: Using the reasoning of a high level to "crush" or deny the pain of a low level.

🤝 PRINCIPLE 5: Do not use it to judge others

This map was born for you to look back at yourself, not to be a ruler for measuring the world. If you use frequency to sort people into "high-low" or to judge someone as "low frequency," you have formally fallen into the trap of Pride (175) and the Spiritual Ego.

  • Right thinking: Use the scale to empathise with the emotional mechanism of others. For example: "They are acting from the level of Fear (100)" will help you feel less anger and respond more healthily.

  • Mistake to avoid: Ranking people or using numbers to assert your own superiority.

💡 A closing word on safety

These five principles are the "protective gloves" that let you handle the Hawkins tool without injuring yourself or others. The Hawkins scale is only truly useful when it makes you closer to yourself — more honest, more responsible, and gentler with your own hidden corners.

WORKSHOP 7: MIRRORING CONSCIOUSNESS & STEERING THE LOOP

"From Observation to Transformation"

This workshop has 3 stages. Prepare your chart and a quiet space to do this exercise as honestly as possible.

STAGE 1: SCAN – RECOGNISING THE KARMIC "HOT SPOTS"

First, look at your Tử Vi chart. Do not look for auspicious stars (good stars); look for the zones of energy that are "congested."

Steps:

  1. Find the position of Hóa Kỵ: Which palace holds Hóa Kỵ? This is usually where you are most prone to wounded pride, doubt, or feeling "not enough."

  2. Find the weakened Sát Tinh: (Kình, Đà, Không, Kiếp, Hỏa, Linh). Where are they? These are the "fuses" that easily ignite Force reactions.

  3. Identify the major star at those palaces: Which star is it? (For example: Thất Sát, Cự Môn, or Thiên Đồng...).

Result of Stage 1: "My karmic hot spot lies in the palace of [palace name], activated by the star cluster [star name]."

STAGE 2: LOCATING YOUR CURRENT FREQUENCY OF CONSCIOUSNESS

Now, set the chart aside and look at the reality of your life over the past month. Answer the following questions honestly (mark the box that fits best):

Quick Frequency Diagnostic Table:

Observation question Reaction A (below 200) Reaction B (above 200)
When you make a mistake? Blame circumstances or torment yourself (Fear/Guilt). Admit it and look for a fix (Courage/Reason).
When someone gives feedback? Feel offended or push back at once (Pride/Anger). Listen and weigh its objectivity (Neutrality/Acceptance).
When you think about the future? Feel anxious or in a fog (Fear/Apathy). See it as feasible and be willing to act (Willingness).
When you are alone? Feel empty, needing something to fill it (Desire). Feel at peace or have time to reflect (Peace).
  • If you chose many A's: You are operating in the Force zone.

  • If you chose many B's: You are beginning to step into the Power zone.

STAGE 3: STEERING THE LOOP

Using the results from Stage 1 and Stage 2, draw up your own "Steering" diagram following the template below:

  1. Triggering situation (Trigger): (For example: When criticised by the boss...)

  2. The old loop (Nghiệp): (I feel angry, argue back, then go home and blame myself - Levels 150 & 30)

  3. The awakened pause: (I breathe 10 times, recognising this is the moment Kình Dương is being triggered)

  4. The new reaction (Nguyện): (I say: "Thank you, I will review this part" - Levels 200/250)

💡 A MESSAGE FROM THE ADVISOR

Doing this workshop will not help you "change your chart" overnight. It helps you build the Muscle of Ý Thức.

Each time you manage step 3 (the pause) and step 4 (the new reaction), one thread of karmic force is cut. Do it enough times and you will find the chart can no longer pull you along the old direction. You begin to become the master of the game.
