LOOKUP TABLE: THE ENERGY MATRIX OF THE 14 CHÍNH TINH

(Used to diagnose the “points of strength” and “points of blockage” in consciousness)

1. How to read the table

  • Miếu/Vượng (energy in surplus): the lesson is RESTRAINT & SERVICE. Otherwise, energy that is too strong turns into Pride (175).

  • Đắc/Bình (balanced / neutral): the lesson is CULTIVATION. The energy here is not yet clearly shaped; it depends entirely on your will.

  • Hãm (blocked / shadow): the lesson is HEALING & EXPLORATION. This is raw ore, not yet polished. One who overcomes a Hãm star often has more inner depth than one with a Miếu star.

A note for the reader: which “family” are you?

As I edited the book, I suggested inserting a short note to help readers recognise themselves, since a human being is a many-sided composite:

Rule for identifying your dominant group:

  1. Look at the Cung Mệnh (Life palace): which group does the major star there belong to → that is your “core temperament” (instinct).

  2. Look at the Cung Thân (Body palace): which group does the major star there belong to → that is your “tendency in action” (later life).

  3. Look at the Cung Quan Lộc (Career palace): which group does the major star belong to → that is your “working style.”

Example:

  • Mệnh with Thái Âm (the Emotion group) but Thân residing in Quan with Thái Dương (the Leadership group).

  • → Portrait: gentle, affectionate, artistic on the surface; but decisive, strong, and eager to take charge when it comes to work.

  • → Lesson: use Thái Âm’s sensitivity to lead by winning hearts, avoiding the swing between being too soft and being too tense (inner conflict).

THE MAP OF CONSCIOUSNESS (HAWKINS MAP OF STARS)

1. The principle of cross-reference: from “star state” to “vibrational frequency”

Before the details, we need a formula for converting energy:

Actual Frequency = Star State (M/V/Đ/B/H) × the Consciousness of the Person

  • The Hãm zone (H/B): the pull of the Shadow is very strong. The natural tendency is to fall toward Shame (20) – Anger (150). Great effort is needed to “swim against the current” up to Power.

  • The Miếu zone (M/V): the push of the Ego is very strong. The natural tendency is to get stuck at Pride (175). Humility is needed to break through to Love (500).

2. Sample matrix: 5 energy groups × 2 frequency zones

Below is a template for you to develop the full 70 cells. I have chosen the most representative examples.

Group A: LEADERSHIP (Tử Vi, Thái Dương, Thất Sát…)
Star & stateNatural frequency (unconscious / Force)Shadow expression (Shadow / Trap)Conscious transformation (Power) → aim for this frequency
Tử Vi (M) (the King at his height)175 (Pride)The Tyrant: tyrannical, unwilling to hear anything unpleasant, disdainful of others. Believing oneself to be the truth.500+ (Love / Reason): becoming the enlightened ruler. Leading through understanding and empowerment.
Thái Dương (H) (the sun gone out)20 – 50 (Shame / Apathy)The Loser: extreme self-doubt, fear of crowds, feeling useless, retreating into a shell.200 (Courage): daring to step into the light bit by bit. Accepting an imperfect self.
Group B: EMOTION & ART
Star & stateNatural frequency (unconscious / Force)Shadow expression (Shadow / Trap)Conscious transformation (Power) → aim for this frequency
Thái Âm (H) (the dim moon)75 (Grief)The Victim: sunk in gloom, playing the victim, dwelling on the past, prone to depression.350 (Acceptance): turning sorrow into the material of art. Healing oneself in order to heal others.
Tham Lang (M) (the sated wolf)125 (Desire)The Addict: chasing bottomless desire (money, love, fame). Manipulating others for satisfaction.400 (Reason / Creativity): transmuting the energy of desire into creative force and a gift for connection.
Group C: INTELLECT & SUPPORT
Star & stateNatural frequency (unconscious / Force)Shadow expression (Shadow / Trap)Conscious transformation (Power) → aim for this frequency
Cự Môn (H) (the closed gate)100 (Fear / Doubt)The Cynic: suspicious to the extreme, seeing bad people everywhere, using words to quarrel and wound.310 (Willingness): opening the heart to hear the truth. Using the gift of analysis to find solutions rather than to nit-pick.
Thiên Cơ (M) (the fast-running machine)150 – 175 (Anger / Pride)The Know-it-all: vain about one’s intelligence, contemptuous of the less learned, scheming.400 (Wisdom): using the intellect to serve all beings (no-self). Becoming a strategist of wisdom.
ADVANCED TABLE: DEGREE OF DISTURBANCE / UNLOCKING BY STATE

(Analysing the root cause of Nghiệp & designing a direction for transformation)

StarSTRONGEST DISTURBANCE WHEN…

Vượng + Hóa Lộc
(turning brightness into blessing, giving that creates a favourable flow)
Vũ KhúcHãm + Kình
(rigidity + hasty, cutting action)
Đắc + Hóa Quyền
(discipline + decisiveness; mastering action, strong yet weighty)
Thái ÂmHãm + Không/Kiếp
(gloom + emptiness, emotions submerged, dissociation)
Miếu + Hóa Khoa
(bright artistic/intuitive mind resolving emotion, self-assured and clear)
Tham LangHãm + Hóa Kỵ
(craving + entangled in addiction, going astray)
Vượng + Hóa Lộc
(experience turned into value, desire transmuted into creativity)

USING THE TABLE TO TRACE THE “ROOT CAUSE OF NGHIỆP”:

  1. Identify the Bình/Hãm star in the key palace.
  2. Check whether it is “triggered” (Kình/Đà/Không/Kiếp/Hóa Kỵ/Tuần/Triệt).
  3. Name the type of disturbance (dependence, doubt, temper, heedlessness, gloom…).
  4. Find the star/Transformation that is the secondary key (Đắc/Miếu/Hóa Khoa/Lộc/Quyền).

THE ESSENCE OF TRANSFORMATION: not changing the chart—but CHANGING THE WAY THE ENERGY FLOWS THROUGH YOU.

DIAGNOSTIC & DISTURBANCE-DECODING TABLE (ALL 14 STARS)

1. The operating principle: “the knot & the key”

  • The knot (disturbance): this is when a star’s Shadow is triggered by a Sát Tinh or a Hãm state. The energy becomes distorted, negative.

  • The key (unlocking): you need not wait for a good cycle to arrive. You can generate the “rescuing” energy yourself by emulating the qualities of the auspicious stars and Transformations.

Liêm TrinhHãm + Thiên Hình / Hỏa: the prison of passion. Self-punishment, obsessed with guilt, living in a way that leads to legal trouble.Hóa Lộc / Khôi Việt: activating the power of aspiration. Turning passion into vocation, using experience to serve and repay (Lộc).
Thiên PhủHãm + Không/Kiếp: the empty treasury. Fear of loss, excessive holding-on.Hóa Lộc / Lộc Tồn: activating the good steward, using Tả Hữu and abundant fortune (Lộc) to dissolve the fear of loss.

THE CORE REMINDER:

When you see your star being “disturbed” (the middle column), do not rush off to a shaman to ward off ill fortune. Look at the “key” column (the right). Even if your chart lacks that resolving star, you can still EMULATE its energy.

  • Example: Are you a Cự Môn Hãm caught in gossip? Do not wait for a Hóa Quyền cycle to arrive. Practise your own “Hóa Quyền” by: speaking less, speaking more slowly, and speaking only the truth. That is how you unlock your own Nghiệp with your own hands.

SHADOW MAP – DECODING THE UNCONSCIOUS DEFENCE MECHANISM

1. The principle: the invisible steering wheel

The Shadow is not an evil to be eliminated. It is the wounded child within each of us. When that child is afraid, it seizes control (grabs the wheel) and produces negative defensive reactions to protect itself.

The table below helps you recognise: when I overreact, what is the child within me afraid of?

2. The Shadow Map table (behavioural psychology)

HEALING MAP – A PRESCRIPTION FOR CONSCIOUSNESS

1. The principle: reshaping the energy

When a star is out of true (Shadow), we cannot “force” it back at once. We need one concrete action of the Body and one intention of the Mind to redirect the flow back toward the axis of Power.

2. Detailed practice table (Body & Mind)

STARCORE LESSON (The Lesson)PRACTICE THROUGH BODY & MIND (Somatic & Mind Practice)AFFIRMATION (Affirmation / Mantra)

DECODING THE ICEBERG (FROM THE CHART TO THE WOUND)

1. The iceberg model of Nghiệp

Imagine yourself as an iceberg:

  • The visible part (Shadow / Behavior): what others see. For example: Thất Sát’s temper, Thiên Cơ’s hesitation.

  • The submerged part (Trauma / Core Wound): the root cause. Why is Thất Sát hot-tempered? Because deep inside it feels unsafe. Why does Thiên Cơ hesitate? Because it carries the wound of betrayed trust.

The iceberg model (Freud): the Conscious mind sits above the water, where the Ego operates. Just below the surface is the Preconscious, where the Superego governs values and moral standards. Deepest of all is the Unconscious, where the Id holds our desires, fears, and root wounds. In Tử Vi Tâm Thức, the Shadow is precisely the submerged part of the iceberg—where Trauma and Pattern lie hidden, steering the surface behaviour we do not notice.

A Tử Vi chart does not create the wound. The chart only tells you in which area your wound usually lies and how you tend to react to protect it.

2. The matrix: 14 Chính tinh & the 5 core wounds

I have grouped the stars by the nature of their wound so readers can recognise them more easily (based on the system of Lise Bourbeau and psychology):

3. Applying this in the Soul Work process

This table is the key to resolving Step 3 (tracing back to the root fear) in the Soul Work Protocol we built earlier.

A worked example:

  • Step 1 (recognise): I notice I am jealous and controlling toward my partner (Shadow of Vũ Khúc).

  • Consult the Trauma table: Vũ Khúc is usually linked to the wound of Betrayal.

  • Step 3 (trace the root): Ah—it is not that my partner did anything wrong. It is the child within me fearing deception/betrayal once again (from old memory).

  • Step 5 (the lesson): The lesson I need is about Trust, not about Control.

DECODING THE MECHANISM OF NGHIỆP

Opening: from event to loop

There is a very subtle way to look at your life: not through “right and wrong,” but through the chain of operation. Most suffering does not come from a single event. It comes from being drawn into the same script, only with a change of setting and cast, while the emotion stays exactly the same.

That chain of operation follows the formula: Shadow (behaviour) → Trauma (wound) → Pattern (karmic consequence)

1. SHADOW (the shadow of behaviour) – “the tip of the iceberg”

Shadow is what others see in you but you often deny or fail to notice. Its hallmark is EXCESS:

  • Too strong (anger, control, aggression).

  • Too weak (withdrawing, avoiding, falling silent).

  • Too clinging (attachment, grief, control).

In Tử Vi, the Shadow is precisely how a star reacts when cornered.

  • The trigger: the Sát Tinh (Kình, Đà, Không, Kiếp…) act as the “detonator” from outside.

  • The inner weakness: a Hãm/Bình star acts as the “gunpowder.”

  • The result: the Shadow detonates.

The formula: Sát Tinh (circumstance pressing) + Hãm star (weak inner strength) = Shadow (the negative reaction).

2. TRAUMA (the root wound) – “the submerged iceberg”

If the Shadow is the fierce wave on the surface, Trauma is the undertow beneath that drives the wave. Trauma is not the event that happened. Trauma is the unprocessed emotion still lodged in the nervous system.

Why do you overreact? Not because of what happened today. Because today’s event “touched” an old pain. Your body reacts as if the danger of years ago has returned: heart racing, shoulders tight, wanting to flee or to attack.

We use the system of the 5 wounds (Lise Bourbeau) to locate the coordinates of pain on the chart:

  1. Abandonment: often found in the Emotion group (Thái Âm, Thiên Đồng).

  2. Rejection: often found in the Ego group (Thái Dương, Phá Quân).

  3. Betrayal: often found in the Control group (Thất Sát, Thiên Cơ).

  4. Humiliation: often found in the Self-respect group (Vũ Khúc, Thiên Lương).

  5. Injustice: often found in the Principle group (Tử Vi, Liêm Trinh).

3. PATTERN (the karmic loop) – “the replay button”

This is the most scientific definition of Nghiệp (karma): karma is not divine punishment. Karma is the memory of habit.

When a Trauma goes unhealed, it creates a Pattern (a loop) to draw similar situations back around, in order to force you to see and resolve it.

  • You change companies three times and still meet the exact same difficult boss? → That is a Pattern.

  • You love three people and each ends in being betrayed? → That is a Pattern.

A real example: the star Cự Môn (Hãm) has the Pattern: argument – misunderstanding – gossip.

  • Surface (Shadow): nit-picking, speaking caustically.

  • Depth (Trauma): the wound of “betrayal/deception.” For fear of being deceived, it must suspect first.

  • Consequence (Pattern): the more it suspects, the more it pushes others away → they come to dislike it → which confirms the belief “See? The world is full of bad people” → a closed loop.

SUMMARY: THE FORMULA FOR OBSERVATION

To break the loop, cultivate the habit of tracing the flow backward:

  1. Ask about the Pattern: “Why does this keep happening to me?”

  2. Ask about the Shadow: “How did I overreact?”

  3. Ask about the Trauma: “Deep down, what am I afraid of?”

Only when you can NAME the fear does the shadow dissolve. And that is the moment your chart is transformed.
